Making one of our Popular Vintage Dresses the Slowfashion Way

Slowfashion is a new way of working in the fashion industry. It’s main advantage is that it reduces wastage, but another pertinent advantage is that it allows for equity and fairness to the makers of the clothes. It also allows small makers in the western world who were hitherto cut out of fashion because the cost of production to be able to make clothes. Platforms such as Etsy have given slow makers like myself a space to start a small unique business. https://elizabethjulianah.com/

Zoom life in our brave new existence

When someone contacted me via Etsy asking if I could make her a zoom Collar, I was wondering what is that? I asked her to send or draw me a sample of what it looked like and I find out that there are so many new accessories to adorn your neckline in this new zoom era we find our selves in. I prefer to call it our brave new world because really, we need to be brave and have immense courage in this season. In England we’ve been in lock down for almost one year! We had a little respite late last year in which we all tried to queue up to get in our fave eatery.
It is what it is we must be brave and soldier on in safety. See some of my fun collars which you can wear on https://elizabethjulianah.com/shop/31660402/collarsyour tee shirt and pyjama bottoms for your zoom work meetings.

Navy Blue Corduroy Dress

l love to make timeless silhouettes that can be worn for as long as the fabric can last. Here is my take on corduroy that can be worn from winter to spring. The fabric is 100% cotton, and will keep you warm. You may accesorise it anyway you like dress it up like it is shown or dress it down with flats and coloured tights. I know we are in the season of zoom meetings so you may like to accesorise with one of my zoom collars you can find it here 👉 https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/ElizabethJulianah?ref=seller-platform-mcnav&section_id=31660402

My Peter Pan Collar Dress, dress it up or dress it down

 Hi All

I have been missing in action! I start again showing my favourite makes. I made this dress late last year from a poplin cotton I fell in love with as it looked like the copper and bronzes of Autumn leaves. This post has been a long time coming because I made it months ago, lol.

I like to make simple silhouettes and let accessories speak for the dress, below is how this dress may be styled or it can be dressed down with patent brogues and coloured tights what do you think?
